This journey begins with a picturesque train ride from Ella, Haputale, or Bandarawela to Ohiya at 7 AM, offering stunning views along the way. From Ohiya, embark on one of Sri Lanka's most renowned hikes to Bambarakanda Falls, the country's highest waterfall. The 16 km trail is challenging but rewarding, winding through tea plantations, remote villages, and lush forests. The hike includes approximately 7 hours of solid trekking over rough terrain, passing abandoned estates, rolling hills, and bubbling streams. The journey culminates at Bambarakanda Falls, where you can marvel at the majestic cascade and even take a refreshing dip.
