This is five nights and six days trip takes you through the most visited attractions of Sri Lanka.
Day 1
- You will be received by our chauffeur in Colombo
- Transfer to Kitulgala - 2 ½ hours drive approximately
- Rain Forest walk in Kitulgala Makandawa rain forest with a trekking guide to see the glory of a rain forest filled with birds, rare trees, streams and small cascading waterfalls and even to have a refreshing bath in a stream or small waterfall
- In the afternoon go test your guts where you will be jumping in to small cascading waterfalls with the careful safety measures set out by the guides
- Dinner and overnight stay in Kitulgala Adventures Camp
Day 2
- Breakfast at the camp
- Take a trek through the jungle to the top of a waterfall and abseil using ropes down to the foothills of the waterfall, this is waterfall abseiling at its best
- Do White water rafting trip down the Kelani river and swim in the river with a floating jacket
- Dinner and overnight stay in Kitulgala Adventures Camp
Day 3
- Early breakfast at the camp
- Transfer to Kandy - 2 ½ hours drive approximately
- Meet with our trekking guide in Kandy to begin a trekking trip in Knuckles Mountains. You will be transferred from Kandy 22 kms on Mahinyangana road and then another 18 kms inland by a van where you will be starting the trek through home spice gardens, vegetable fields, rice fields, tea plantation, pigmy forests and plateaus. The trek is approximately about 8 kms one way and its 16 kms in total. At the end of the trail you would be able to swim at a base of a nice waterfall. You are expected to encounter with species such as Deer, Barking deer, Deer monkey and various types of Lizards. In this trek you will be climbing from 1200 ft to 1850 ft. On the way back you will be able to do some bird watching. Picnic lunch and refreshments will be provided during the trek.
- Dinner and overnight stay in a mobile tented camp in the Knuckles Mountain range above 1200 ft from the sea level.
Day 4
- Breakfast at the camp
- After breakfast you will be trekking through tea plantation, pine forest, a typical kandyan village and rice fields. This is a circular trek which is approximately about 18 kms. Village culture and bird watching are some of the highlights of this trip. You will be transferred to Kandy by 5 pm.
- Transfer to Habarana - 2 hours drive approximately
- Dinner and overnight stay in Kamatha Eco Lodge
Day 5
- Breakfast at Kamatha Eco Lodge
- Explore a typical Sri Lankan village by foot or cycles witnessing vegetables fields, interacting with village vendors, rice fields, lakes and village folks
- Visit ancient Pidurangala Rock Monastery
- Afternoon Safari in Minneriya National Park at 3 PM to see Elephants in close quarters. During the months of July and August one can see large herds of Elephants of 200 to 300 Elephants
- Dinner and overnight stay in Kamatha Eco Lodge
Day 6
- Breakfast at Kamatha Eco Lodge
- Nature trail at 6 AM in the jungle of Habarana to see species such as birds, butterflies, Crocodiles, Water Lizards and if you are lucky you could come across roaming wild Elephants too
- Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress which is a UNESCO World Heritage site
- Transfer to Colombo - 4 to 5 hours drive approximately
- Accommodation in mentioned hotels
- Meals as per mentioned meal plans
- Air conditioned transfers with an English speaking chauffer guide
