The Huruluwewa Eco Park Game Drives offer a unique experience in exploring this park. This park is an old teak plantation which has been transformed into grassland. During the rainy season, the Minneriya and Kaudulla tanks fill up, reducing the grasslands available to the elephants. During these times, the elephants come to Hurullu Wewa for grazing on 'elephant grass' available abundantly in this park. It is one of Sri Lanka's newest parks and forms the central link in the chain of protected elephant (Elephas maximus) habitats. The numerous small herds of elephants that inhabit the surrounding region for most of the year gather together on the open bed of the main tank to graze, drink, bathe, and socialize. The Huruluwewa Eco Park Game Drives provide a wonderful opportunity to witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.

Day 1

Pick up from Habarana hotel and transfer to Huruluwewa Eco Park - Approximately 45 minutes
Safari game drive at Huruluwewa Eco Park - (Morning - Approximately 4 hours/ Evening 3 hours)
Back to hotel
