Day 01
- Begin your adventure with a transfer from Kandy, traveling 22 kilometers along Mahinyangana road, then another 18 kilometers inland by van. Embark on your trek through captivating landscapes including home spice gardens, vegetable plots, rice fields, tea plantations, pigmy forests, and plateaus. The trail spans approximately 8 kilometers one way, totaling 16 kilometers. Conclude your journey with a refreshing swim at the base of a picturesque waterfall, where encounters with wildlife such as deer, barking deer, deer monkeys, and various lizard species await. Ascend from 1200 feet to 1850 feet during the trek. Return journey offers opportunities for birdwatching. Spend the night at a small lodge in the Knuckles mountain range, situated over 1200 feet above sea level.
Day 02
- Following breakfast, embark on a trek through tea plantations, pine forests, a typical Kandyan village, and rice fields. This circular route spans approximately 18 kilometers, with highlights including immersion in village culture and birdwatching. At the conclusion of the trek, transfer to Veddha Village for an overnight camp, a three-hour drive away. Enjoy a campout with the Veddhas, featuring a bonfire.
Day 03
- After breakfast at the Veddha camp, experience the traditional way of life with the Veddhas. Witness Veddha dances, demonstrations of traditional hunting methods, and baby cradling. Then, embark on a 4-kilometer trek to a waterfall, followed by a swim and a village lunch. Conclude the journey with a transfer back to Kandy by 6 pm.
