Day 01
- Your expedition begins with a transfer from Kandy, traveling 22 kilometers on the Mahinyangana road, followed by an additional 18 kilometers inland via van. Starting from this point, you'll embark on an exhilarating trek through a diverse array of landscapes, including home spice gardens, vegetable fields, rice fields, tea plantations, pigmy forests, and plateaus. The trek spans approximately 8 kilometers one way, totaling 16 kilometers in its entirety. At the trail's conclusion, you'll have the opportunity to take a refreshing swim at the base of a picturesque waterfall, with the chance to encounter wildlife such as Deer, Barking deer, Deer monkeys, and various types of lizards. This trek also involves an elevation gain from 1200 ft to 1850 ft. As you return, enjoy the serene activity of birdwatching.
- For the night, you'll be accommodated in a small lodge nestled in the Knuckles mountain range, situated above 1200 ft from sea level.
Day 02
- Following breakfast, embark on the next leg of your journey, trekking through tea plantations, pine forests, a typical Kandyan village, and rice fields. This circular trek covers approximately 18 kilometers and offers insights into village culture and abundant opportunities for birdwatching. You'll be transferred back to Kandy by 6 pm, concluding your remarkable adventure in the Knuckles Mountains.
